An explanation of 'The Bronovsky Crime Mysteries' by Alexei Bronovsky

The Bronovsky carnation

Know then that my name is Alexei Alexus Bronovsky freed serf of the Count Bronovsky. What follows are my various accounts of the criminal detection and sundry adventures of my former master Count Bronovsky of fame and ancient family whose symbol is 'The Bronovsky carnation'.

I write from the great city of St Petersburg in comfortable circumstances rendered by surprising good fortune and in the company of my dear old cat and closest friend Pocket. Pocket my cat I am of humble origins being born a serf to the Bronovsky estate in far eastern Mother Russia and given to my master by his father, Igor, when he and I were but children. The Count proved to be a kind master not only by feeding and clothing me well, but by educating me in the European style, and ultimately by freeing me, so that I might use the family name and almost pass for a gentleman.

Now to business. I spent many years with my master. He was always restless, always travelling to new adventures and so I travelled too as his manservant. I hope to provide various accounts of these with particular emphasis on the Count's special talent for solving crime. If you'd like to receive a copy of my first draft chapter of 'The Bronovsky Crime Mysteries' at no expense please follow the directions of my secretary, Victoria.
